Sudarshan Shetty earned his BFA from the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, 1980. He works across media such as sculpture, installations and painting. His work displays an intriguing combination of the representational and the abstract. In 2007, he did a residency at The Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh. He has participated in important international shows including Private Mythology: Contemporary Art from India, Tokyo, 1998; Gwangju Biennale, South Korea, 2000 and Century City: Art and Culture in the Modern Metropolis, Tate Modern, 2001. His solo exhibitions include Leaving Home, Galerie Krinzinger, Vienna, 2008, Saving Skin, Jack Tilton Gallery, New York, 2008, Love at Bodhi Art in association with GALLERYSKE (2006), Eight Corners of the World GALLERYSKE in Bangalore (2005). The artist lives and works in Mumbai.
