Art Musings presented a solo show of Paris based artist Maïté Delteil. At first glimpse, Maïté Delteil’s paintings appear to be images of serenity removed from the flux of time, their mise en scene evocative of an Arcadian past peopled by languid naiads and exquisite birds gathered around trees heavy with fruit. Probing gently beneath the surfaces of these paintings, however, we come upon cadences of unease beneath the apparent repose of the pastorale.
